Big Pig Gig events




        Cincinnati will be playing with the pigs all summer. Here are Pig Gig events; many are still in planning stages:

        • Pig calling contest, 11:45 a.m. June 2, Fountain Square.

        • “World's Largest Pignic,” 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 10, Fountain Square.

        • Daily pig portraits in the Enquirer's Tempo section, through October.

        • “Pig of the Week” television spots about decorated pigs and their artists, WCPO (Channel 9), May to October.

        • Downtown “Pig of the Week” feature, Downtowner, June to October.

        • Stories about pig artists over 50, 50-Plus, June.

        • Weekly events listing and weekly pig, City Beat, June to October.

        • “Squeal for your meal,” a two-week call-in contest on WOFX-FM (92.5) radio. Just do your best pig imitation and win a restaurant dinner in July or August.

        • “Three Little Piggies” scavenger hunt, All About Kids, June to October.

        • “Watch and Win with Drew Carey,” WB64-TV, for downtown lunches, this summer.

        • Call-in contest for “Ham Jam Concert,” with bus tour of all pigs and lunch, WMOJ-FM (MOJO 94.9) radio.

        • Contests to win pigs autographed by country music stars, WUBE-FM (105.1) radio, June to October.

        • Pork Roast with Mayor Charlie Luken, July-August, 55KRC/WSAI radio.

        • “Pig-in Put Swine for the Day” with Pat Barry, WKRC-AM radio, June-October.

        • Big Pig Jazz Gig, Cincinnati Art Museum, 2 to 5 p.m. Sundays, June 4 to Aug. 27.

        • Boar Guide Tours, Cincinnati, Covington and Newport, 10 a.m. Saturdays starting June 10.

        • ArtWorks Piglet Auction, Eden Park, Aug. 1.

        • Big Pig Gig auction preview party, Music Hall Ballroom, Nov. 12.

        • Big Pig Gig auction, Nov. 13, Music Hall.

        • Pig Out on Books summer reading program, Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County, all summer.

        • Swine Finds Scavenger Hunts, Taft Museum of Art, all summer.
