Deal, Stilke help Boone County beat Highlands 4-2

Todd Deal and Jeff Stilke delivered clutch hits and pitcher Chad Anderson went seven innings to help Boone County to a 4-2 victory over Highlands on Monday in baseball action at Highland Park in Fort Thomas.
The Rebels opened up a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on Deal's two-run home run. They added two more in the sixth on Stilke's single.
Ludlow 7, Newport 3 The sophomore duo of Joey Drysdale and Josh Waters proved to be Newport's undoing.
Tied 3-3 after five innings, Drysdale and Waters each drove in two runs with singles for the Panthers.
Junior Ryan York threw seven innings for Ludlow, holding the Wildcats to four hits.
Beechwood 2, Lloyd 1 The Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to eke out the victory.
Junior Mike Nie led off with a single and scored on Matt Mercer's double to tie the game at 1-1. Pinch runner Nick Stretch scored the game winner when Phil Fairbanks hit a single to center field.
Beechwood's Chris Wera (4-0) allowed five hits.
Bishop Brossart 8, Ryle 6 The Mustangs scored three runs in the sixth inning for the come-from-behind victory.
John Lloyd's one-out RBI single and Justin Seiter's two-out RBI single were the big hits for Brossart in the decisive inning.
