        Maifest: The popular spring festival begins 5-11 p.m. today on Sixth Street in MainStrasse Village, Covington. Look for German dancers and food items plus music by Lube, Oil and Filterand Stagger Lee. 357-6246.

        Dinner theater: La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro presents the high energy song and dance show Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? spoofing Catholic education in the '50s through July 2.         • TV picks: Barbara Walters receives a lifetime achievement award on the 27th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards (9 p.m., Channels 9, 2) hosted by Emmy-winner Susan Lucci.

        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter says Providence (8 p.m., Channels 5, 22) ends the season with Syd (Melina Kanakaredes) in a coma, while CBS has The Dukes of Hazzard (8-10 p.m., Channels 12, 7)in Hollywood raising funds for a hospital back home. They probably won't be visiting City of Angels.
