Way cleared for complex to be built

SPRINGDALE — Construction should start next week on Bahama Breeze, the first restaurant in a new complex on Ohio 4 north of Interstate 275 called Picto ria Island.
The long-awaited $104 million office and restaurant project finally is taking shape, thanks to City Council's approval of a plan that includes putting property taxes toward improvements such as roads, and an agree ment to share income tax revenues with the Princeton City School District.
“This means we can really go ahead,” said developer David Tipton of Tipton Interests Inc.
Projects planned for Pictoria Island include Bahama Breeze, a 13,000-square-foot Caribbean restaurant, to anchor a bank of eateries surrounding a pond with fountains; an extended-stay hotel; five office buildings; and two parking garages.
Pictoria Island, which could be finished within 10 years, is expected to create 3,200 jobs.
