        • Multi-Color Corp. has promoted Steven G. Mulch to senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mr. Mulch joined Multi-Color in March 1998 as vice president of corporate sales and business development. Multi-Color is a leading U.S. manufacturer of specialty labels for consumer-product companies.

        • Becky Boh has been promoted to district manager of Vector Marketing Corp.'s Florence office. Ms. Boh has passed her $100,000 personal sales milestone and has won numerous sales awards, including 11 times as member of the President's Club. Ms. Boh, a Cincinnati native, joined Vector in 1994.

        • Huff Realty announces the addition of Tom West to its Symmes Township office as a sales associate. Also, Jerry Rogers has joined the Tri-County office as senior sales executive and auctioneer.

        • Brad Irwin, formerly a senior manager with Procter & Gamble, has been named president of Mott's Inc., based in Stamford, Conn. Mott's is the nation's leading producer of branded applesauce and apple juice, among other products. Mr. Irwin is a native of Darien, Conn., and a graduate of Amherst College.

        • Cara Deptula has joined Bridge Integrated Communications, a full-service advertising agency, as a Web programmer. Ms. Deptula is a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College of Applied Science, where she earned a bachelor's degree in information engineering technology and minored in technical communication.

        • Eagle Realty Group has announced three promotions in the newly formed investment management division. Gregory G. Rowe has been promoted to vice president and director of acquisitions and business development. Charles L. Thomas moves to vice president of real estate development and Thomas R. Stanek is now vice president of mortgage loans. • Mark S. Reckman has been selected the managing partner in the law firm of Wood & Lamping LLP. Mr. Reckman began his career with Wood & Lamping in 1977 as a law clerk. He also serves as head of the probate and estate planning department.

        • Strata-G Communications, a full-service marketing communications firm, has brought aboard Thomas J. Rottinghaus as an account manager. Mr. Rottinghaus manages the account with Cincinnati Bell Directory and development and support of the Cincinnati Exchange Web site. He also advises clients on benefits of e-commerce.

        • TriData Technologies Inc., a bar-code integration company, announces the addition of Judy Menker and Craig Hinkel as outside sales representative and application engineer, respectively.

        • Deborah Norris has been named group vice president of HSR Business Inc.'s marketing communications division. Ms. Norris will oversee a select group of the firm's accounts. Ms. Norris is a former vice president of Nexis Marketing for the Lexis-Nexis Group.

        • Michael Ettinger is now directing human resources at Synergistics, a sales performance software company. His job includes management consulting, employee relations and organizational development.

        • Linda D. Stallings has joined the Association of Bridal Consultants. Ms. Stallings operates Aunt Linda's Weddings and Special Events in Mariemont. She is a bridal consultant and event planner.

        • Sam Paxton has been named area manager for Computer Sciences Corp., Credit Services Division, a major supplier of creditservices to lenders. He will be responsible for managing the sales and support efforts for major national bank and mortgage bank clients. Mr. Paxton was been with CSC since 1994. His last position was as senior account manager.

        • Jennifer Green has joined the Cincinnatian Hotel's sales team. Ms. Green brings 18 years of experience, having worked locally with the Omni Netherland Plaza Hotel, the Greater Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Westin Hotel downtown. Originally from England, Ms. Green has lived in Cincinnati for 20 years.

        • Firstar Bank recently appointed Brian Barnard director of customer care of the bank's e-commerce division. Mr. Barnard began his career in the financial services industry in 1994. He has served as a branch manager for Firstar since 1997. Mr. Barnard is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford.

        • Broadwing Inc. announces that Dave Torline has been appointed its chief information officer. Previously, Mr. Torline served as vice president of information technology at Cincinnati Bell.

        • Barnes, Dennig & Co. recently hired Slate Kirk to provide organizational development services for the firm's consulting practice. Mr. Kirk has worked with a variety of family-owned local, national and international companies. Prior, Mr. Kirk worked with the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Sciences as a consultant. Mr. Kirk is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.

        • Stacy Davis, Susan Hellyer, Andy Wade and Bob Wheeler have been promoted in the assurance and business advisory practice of Arthur Andersen's Cincinnati office.

        • Noelle Leca, senior vice president and general manager of Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories' e-commerce business unit, has been named to Synchrony Communications' board of directors.

        • Cognis Corp., a specialty chemical industry company, has hired Janetta Walls as vice president and general counsel for Cognis North America. Ms. Walls has provided in-house legal counsel to Givaudan Roure, Hoechst AG and Hoechst Celanese Chemical Group Inc. In addition, she has served as a litigation associate with Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox. She holds a doctorate of jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law. Ms. Walls will be based at Cognis' North American headquarters in Cincinnati.

        • Tor Driflot has been named general manager of Weyerhaeuser Building Materials' customer service center in Cincinnati. Weyerhaeuser is a wholesale distributor of materials to lumber retailers, home-improvement warehouses, industrial manufacturers and the manufactured housing and recreational vehicle industries.

        • Amy Minor has joined Comey & Shepherd Realtors as a residential sales associate. She is affiliated with the Mariemont office.

        • Robert D. Gordon has announced the creation of the Gordon Group, a company offering management consulting and brokering services to the broadcast industry. Mr. Gordon was associated with WCPO-TV (Channel 9) for 21 years. He also has served as a board member for Scripps-Howard Broadcasting Co. Mr. Gordon most recently was president and CEO of Boston University Communications Inc. Following the announced sale of his company to Paxson Communications, Mr. Gordon returns to Cincinnati.

        • JLS Properties announces that Cheryl Knabe has joined the company as accounting manager. Krisleen Hoskins has also joined the company as assistant property manager.

        • Jerry Beatrice has been hired as group customer service representative, as well as benefit consultant, in the senior market of Business Benefits Inc. in Fort Mitchell. Mr. Beatrice has had extensive training in the insurance industry with Humana and more recently with PacifiCare/Secure Horizons.

Awards & honors
        • Kendle International Inc. has been selected as the recipient of the first “Deal Maker Award” by the Greater Cincinnati chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. The Deal Maker Award recognizes the achievements of companies, entrepreneurs and financiers participating actively in merger and acquisition activity in the Cincinnati area. Through acquisition activities during the past three years, Kendle has grown from a small domestic company to a global organization with offices on three continents.

        • Russ McLaughlin, owner of McLaughlin Studios in West Chester, has been named to the Court of Honor for Best Portrait Print in the Mid-East States Affiliated Print Competition. The Professional Photographers of Ohio organization was host of the competition. Mr. McLaughlin also won an award for a custom-designed wedding album.

        • Pitt Ohio Express recently received the C.H. Robinson 1999 Service Award. The award recognizes high standards, reliability and professionalism for safely transporting 366 loads during 1999. Pitt Ohio Express also placed second in the American Trucking Association's safety contest for industrial and fleet safety.

        • Pete Landversicht, senior copywriter at HSR Business to Business, has been named Rookie of the Year by the Advertising Club of Cincinnati. Mr. Landversicht earned the award after serving on the Advertising Club's executive committee as a vice president and chaired the ADDY committee, organizing the most successful ADDY Awards Show in the club's history.

        • At its recent annual meeting, the Cincinnati Paralegal Association presented three awards. Tammy L. Leary, a paralegal with the Ohio Attorney General's office, received the outstanding new member award. Kimberly A. Nichols, with the firm Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis LLP, received the outstanding CPA member award. The professional achievement award was presented to Carolyn M. Saenz, a paralegal with Western-Southern Life Insurance Co.

Expansions
        • Vetsmart, a pet hospital and health center, has opened within the Florence Petsmart store. The facility is a full-service veterinary hospital. It will be operated by Dr. Beverly Porter from Elliott County, Ky. The hospital will incorporate the latest technology in pet care.

Associations
        • Corey Lehr, director of payroll and employee information services for the University of Cincinnati since 1977, has been sworn in as president of the American Payroll Association. At UC, Mr. Lehr manages 15 staff members and is responsible for a payroll of nearly 13,000 employees.
