Memorial Day observances

        Batavia: Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, sponsored by the Clermont County Veterans Service Commission. Lineup at 10:30 a.m. east of the railroad trestle (near Aztec Plumbing). Parade will stop briefly at the bridge on Main Street and at Haglage Park for a short ceremony to honor fallen veterans. The parade will feature the Batavia High School Band, fire departments and veterans groups.

        Bethel: Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Old Bethel Church at East Fork State Park, north of Bantam. American Legion services will follow at 11 a.m.

        New Richmond: American Legion Post 550 and VFW Post 6770 will visit the following locations for services on Monday: (Times are approximate.) Collard Cemetery, 8:05 a.m.; Moscow Veterans Monument, 8:15 a.m.; Moscow Cemetery, 8:20 a.m.; U.S. Grant Birthplace, 8:30 a.m.; Mount Zion Cemetery, 8:45 a.m.; Laurel Cemetery, 9 a.m.; Franklin Chapel Cemetery, 9:20 a.m.; Nicholsville Cemetery No. 1 and No. 2, 9:30 a.m.; Ten Mile Cemetery, 10 a.m.; Pierce Township Cemetery, 10:15 a.m.; Mount Pisgah Cemetery, 10:30 a.m.; Moreland Cemetery, 10:45 a.m,;, St. Peter's Cemetery, 11 a.m.; Samarian Cemetery, 11:05 a.m.; Watkins Hill Cemetery, 11:15 a.m.; Greenmound Cemetery, 11:45 a.m.; American Legion Home, noon; and VFW Home, 12:15 p.m. Service at the Veterans Memorial on Front Street will begin about 12:30 p.m.

        Union Township: The Clermont County Vietnam Veterans will hold their annual vigil at Veterans Memorial Park, at Glen Este-Withamsville Road and Clough Pike. The vigil begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, and ends at 2 p.m. Monday. There will be a reading of names of those who lost their lives in Vietnam, and all are welcome to place American flags on the 500 crosses.

        Williamsburg: American Legion Post 288 will honor veterans with ceremonies in cemeteries on Monday as follows: Greenberry Cemetery, 8:15 a.m.; Bloomrose Cemetery, 8:35 a.m.; Taylor's Chapel Cemetery, 9 a.m.; New Harmony Cemetery, 9:25 a.m.; Clover Cemetery, 9:50 a.m.; and Concord Cemetery, 10:10 a.m.

        A parade will be held Monday. Lineup is at the American Legion Post on East Main Street at 10:30 a.m., and the parade begins at 11 a.m. It will proceed to the Williamsburg Cemetery, where the American Legion will hold a service.
