        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter will be watching two new summer series, CBS' Survivor adventure (8 p.m., Channels 12, 7) and ABC's Clerks cartoon (9:30 p.m., Channels 9, 2).

        The Goods (What's in stores today)

Disk picks: The History of Rock (Atlantic; $18.98 CD, $12.98 cassette) brings back select cuts from Kid Rock's first two CDs plus his new “American Bad Ass” single.

        • Billy Bragg and Wilco team again for Mermaid Avenue. Vol. 2 (Elektra; $17.98 CD, $11.98 cassette), with 15 more of Woody Guthrie's songs lyrics put to their music. If the second is half as good as the first, says Enquirer music critic Larry Nager, this should be one of the year's best CDs.

        • Dwight Yoakam goes unplugged with guitar-and-voice arrangements of 25 of his songs on dwightyoakamacoustic.net (Reprise; $18.98 CD, $12.98 cassette).

        • Totally Hits 2 (Elektra; $18.98 CD, $12.98 cassette) is just what the title says, including Santana's “Maria Maria,” Lonestar's “Amazed,” Lou Bega's “Mambo No. 5,” Christina Aguilera's “Genie in the Bottle” and Sugar Ray's “Falls Apart.”

        72 hours 'til Saturday: WGRR Oldiesfest 2000 kicks off at noon at Butler County Fairgrounds in Hamilton with Dion, Davy Jones, Gary Puckett, Lou Christie, the Chiffons, Gene Hughes, more. 699-5550.
