Central Avenue to close for ramp work
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Central Avenue will be closed between Third and Fourth streets from from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Tuesday.
The closure will not be in effect on Sunday to accommodate Reds game traffic.
The following detours are available:
ãTo access Central Avenue southbound, use Plum Street south to Third Street, then travel east to the Roebling Suspension Extension (temporary bridge). Turn left on Mehring Way and left on to Pete Rose Way. Turn right on Broadway and follow south to Mehring Way. From there, take Mehring Way to west for connection to West Third Street.
ãFor alternate access to West Third Street from Interstate 75 southbound, use the Freeman Avenue exit. Turn left on Gest Street and follow to Third Street.
ãTo access Central Avenue northbound, use Third Street east to Plum Street, then north to McFarland Street connecting with Elm Street. Use Elm and Fourth streets for access to Central Avenue.
Vine and Fourth streets may also be used as alternate routes to reach Central Avenue northbound from Third Street.
The closures are for the installation of steel beams for the new Third Street ramp to Interstate 75 southbound over Central Avenue.
