Employees pledge to build teamwork

By

More than 1,000 employees of American Annuity Group Inc. gathered last week at Cinergy Field to celebrate the company's name change to Great American Financial Resources Inc. But they also unveiled a “Social Contract” to “create and maintain an atmosphere of trust and mutual support, ensure healthy relationships and build a high-performing company.”

The contract includes promises to communicate openly and honestly, listen to each other's ideas, provide constructive criticism, promote teamwork, appreciate individuality and diversity, act with “sensitivity and patience,” honor confidences and foster a “fun and friendly workplace.”

“In accordance with these principles, we will address any personal disagreements directly,” the one-page document says.
