TURTLECREEK TWP. — Two Waynesville women were killed Wednesday afternoon when the station wagon they were traveling in failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck broadside by a pickup truck at the intersection of Wilmington and Waynesville roads in Warren County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the victims as driver Phyllis D. Arnold, 65, and Dolores A. Marriott, 67. The 1988 Chevrolet station wagon was traveling north on Waynesville about 2:20 p.m. when it was struck by a pickup truck traveling west on Wilmington, the highway patrol said.

The driver of the pickup, Steven W. Bauman, 35, of Oregonia, and passenger Matthew Justice, 15, of Mason, were not injured.
