A local foundation established to serve the Butler County communities of Liberty and West Chester townships will hold its first fund-raiser next month.
Part of the proceeds from the Aug. 7 golf outing at Four Bridges Country Club in Liberty Township will benefit the Key Foundation's disaster fund.
The idea of having our own community foundation to benefit our own people is important to our identity here, said Patti Alderson, founding member and board president. We'd like to be able to serve all facets of the community ...
The foundation's disaster fund would assist local residents with fire, flood or storm damage.
The Key Foundation was established as an offshoot to the Key Event, a charity dinner party that Mrs. Alderson and several other local women established five years ago. To date, Key Event has raised more than $100,000, Mrs. Alderson said.
D.A. Development Inc. of West Chester is the presenting sponsor of the upcoming golf outing. Former Cincinnati Bengal Jim Breech and businessman Bob Lawhorn are co-chairmen of the outing.
Check-in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow at 11:30 a.m. The game will start at 1 p.m. and a reception and awards dinner will begin at 6. The cost is $175 per person.
For more information or to make reservations, contact Lew Ann Lawhorn at (513) 755-7414. For more information about The Key Foundation, call Mrs. Alderson at (513) 779-0055.
