Air pilot groups propose merger
Pilots who fly Delta Connection airlines want to be treated the same as those flying Delta's mainline jets.

The union groups at Comair and Atlantic Southeast Airlines — both of which Delta acquired last year — today will ask the executive council of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) to merge the pilot seniority lists for the three airlines.

All three pilot groups are members of ALPA but have separately negotiated contracts with the airlines. Comair and ASA operate as subsidiaries of Delta, ferrying 35 to 50 passengers at a time on regional jets and turboprops from small and midsize cities to hubs such as Cincinnati and Atlanta.

Both Comair pilots and Delta pilots are negotiating for new union contracts.

Comair pilots say the merger of the groups would prevent Delta from favoring one group over another.

A spokesman for the Delta pilots Tuesday night said the Delta union leadership plans to discuss the proposal at its meeting in August.

SDRC lands $3 million order
Structural Dynamics Research Corp. said Tuesday that it won a $3 million order from Ericsson, the Swedish mobile phone supplier, to supply its Metaphase product data management software. Milford-based SDRC said Ericsson would use the software across multiple sites in Sweden.

Financial chief resigns from DPL
DPL Inc., the owner of Dayton, Ohio's electric utility, said chief financial officer R. Michael Lempke resigned two months after joining the company.

DPL didn't give a reason. The resignation was effective immediately. Mr. Lempke's responsibilities will be split between vice president Arthur Meyer and chief accounting officer Elizabeth McCarthy while DPL seeks a replacement.

“We wish Mike all the best in his future endeavors,” chief executive Allen Hill said in a statement.
