High school gets assistant principal

        INDIAN HILL — The Indian Hill Board of Education appointed Frank C. Wright assistant principal of the high school. He succeeds Brian Frank, who becomes principal at Indian Hill Middle School.

        Mr. Wright has been middle school assistant principal in Shelbyville, Ind. since 1996. Previously, he taught middle school social studies and was an administrative assistant at Greendale Middle School.

        A cum laude graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.V., Mr. Wright holds a bachelor's degree in social studies and a master's in education administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He attended the Indiana Principal Leadership Academy.

        Mr. Wright will begin his duties at Indian Hill on August 1.

Nursery school has openings
        MOUNT HEALTHY — Trinity Co-Op Nursery School, 1553 Kinney Avenue, has several openings in is programs for 2-5 year-olds, beginning in September. The school opened in 1985 and is licensed by the state of Ohio. Information: 522-3026.

Elder alums planning picnic
        Elder High School alumni are hosting a Family Picnic, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. August 11 at Strickers Grove, 11490 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross.

        There will be food, drinks, rides, games and more. Entertainment provided by “Lee's Junction” and the Elder Steel Drum Band. Admission cost is $2 per person or $5 per family.

State honors driver of the year
        BATAVIA — Wanda Davis with the Clermont Transportation Connection, has been named the 1999 Driver of the Year by ODOT's Office of Transit, said Gordon Proctor, director, Ohio Department of Transportation.

        “Wanda's dedication to her job is underscored by her extraordinary concern for the well-being of her passengers.” Mr. Proctor said. “These qualities make Wanda a valuable asset to both the Clermont Transportation Connection and the community,” said Mr. Proctor.

        This award was one of five presented at the Annual Rural Transit Awards Luncheon. Each award recognizes the service transit systems and their employees provide to the public.
