Cincinnati economy grew a little

The Cincinnati economy grew in July, but weakly, according to a poll by the National Association of Purchasing Management-Cincinnati.

Fifty-eight percent of businesses polled reported their order backlogs are down, while only 8 percent said backlogs were up. More businesses also reported new orders are down, continuing an 11-month trend in slower growth.

One weakening trend was that toward higher prices. Fewer businesses are reporting being charged higher prices for materials and equipment.
