GOING OUT
        Some Like It Hot: That's the summer show at Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park. Catch the florals in bright bronze, orange and chartreuse — it's Tropicalismo. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, through Aug. 27.

        Hot sounds: Chase the Monday blues with the hotter-than-August Latin grooves of Tropicoso at the Mad Frog, 1 E. McMillan St., Mount Auburn; 929-4444; 10 p.m., $3).

STAYING IN
        TV picks: Great news for fans of The West Wing who were late to discover the show: NBC repeats the September pilot (10 p.m., Channels 5, 22) in which Chief of Staff Leo McGarry (John Spencer) puts out fires after the president (Martin Sheen) gets hurt bicycling.

        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter says pianist Jim Brickman visits WCET-TV to help raise membership funds during breaks in his concert special, My Romance: An Evening with Jim Brickman (8 and 9:30 p.m., Channel 48).

        Web site of the day: Tired of those pesky Pez people on eBay? As of Saturday, there is a new home on the Web for card collectors, and card collectors only, to trade their goods person-to-person in real time: www.itradecards.com.

        Hometown boyz: Cincinnati's own 98` heats up the cover of the September issue of Teen People, on newsstands now. The magazine also salutes Olympians, like Columbus gymnast Blaine Wilson, to watch at this summer's games in its unique flip-99.

        Planning Ahead

        24 hours out: Riverbend gates open 10 a.m. Tuesday for “Ozzfest 2000” with Ozzy Osbourne and a host of modern metal bands. $55.25 pavilion, $29.75 lawn, at Ticketmaster outlets and the Riverbend box office.

        Also 24 hours out: Brown bag it to downtown's Piatt Park for an acoustic lunch with Ditch Lilies. The free concert plays 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

        48 hours out: There are still a few more chances to catch A Chorus Line at UC's Hot Summer Nights. Curtain goes up 8 p.m. Wednesday at Patricia Corbett Theater. 556-4183.

        72 hours 'til Thursday: They're pitching a boogie-woogie, Southern style, at Lucille's Blues Club, 3715 Winston Ave., Covington, as Nashville-based blues band Big Al & the Heavyweights returns. Cajun-style potluck 7 p.m.; music after supper. $10. 431-8086.
