Ky. credits help 2 firms add jobs

Two Northern Kentucky companies planning to add up to 150 new jobs have received preliminary approval for tax credits under the Kentucky Jobs Development Act.

        • SSE Manufacturing, a Florence frozen-specialty-foods maker which employs 930, plans to add 59 jobs with the addition of a 110,000-square-foot cold storage facility operated by Merchants Cold Storage LLC in the Richwood Industrial Park. SSE Manufacturing received preliminary approval for tax credits of up to $1.5 million from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority.

        • Pomeroy Computer Resources Inc., a Hebron computer sales and service company, plans to add between 40 and 90 new jobs at a 22,000-square-foot expansion at its computer service center off Ky. 20 in the Airpark International Park.

Pomeroy, which is creating a Web development division and national training center, expects to make a final decision on the project in 60 days. The authority gave Pomeroy preliminary approval for $2.4 million in credits for 10 years.
