NKU's Listerman honored

Northern Kentucky University basketball player Kevin Listerman, from the Great Lakes Region, was among 16 regional winners of the inaugural NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, which was announced Thursday.
The new award, sponsored by Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, provides opportunity for Division II to highlight the achievements by its student-athletes.
Listerman, who finished his career at NKU this season, was the male recipient of the away from the Great Lakes Region. The regional winners eight females, eight males were selected by the commissioners from the eight regions that comprise the Division II basketball alignment.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.0 grade point average and possess outstanding athletic credentials. Listerman, who graduated Summa Cum Laude, also was awarded an NCAA postgraduate scholarship earlier this year.
