Riverboat casinos take in $42 million

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Greater Cincinnati's two riverboat casinos “won” almost $42 million in August, the Indiana Gaming Commission said Wednesday.

Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg collected gaming revenue of $28.8 million, while Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun collected $13 million. Those amounts include the casino's winnings from slot machines and table games before taxes, salaries and other costs.

Argosy recorded total admissions of 650,081, while Grand Victoria had 278,995 visits. Last year, the two casinos attracted more than 10 million visits, making them by far the most popular tourist attractions in the region.
