Internet aids United Way drive
With the help of the World Wide Web, this year's United Way pledge drive is off to a strong start at Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America Inc.
The Erlanger company is providing the chairman for the Northern Kentucky segment of the drive, senior vice president Dennis Cuneo. He said workers at the Erlanger headquarters already pledged about $350,000 in an early campaign, up about $95,000 compared with last year.
Toyota ran an online campaign this year, Mr. Cuneo said. Employees could make their pledges on a Web site. The Internet site also provided links to some of the agencies receiving United Way funds, he said.
The goal for the regional campaign is to raise a record $59.6 million by late October.
