Mount St. Joseph 26, Hiram 21

Tailback Doug Anderson had 34 carries, rushed for 195 yards and ran for a 31-yard touchdown to help Mount St. Joseph to a 26-21 victory over Hiram College Saturday.

Anderson's touchdown with 4:12 remaining in the second quarter followed a 23-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Sparhawk to Rob Wells.

Hiram (1-2 overall) was leading Mount St. Joseph (2-2) 21-20 with 5:58 remaining in the third quarter when Mark Schorsch scored on a 5-yard touchdown run to put the Lions ahead 26-21.

Hiram had opened scoring in the second quarter with two touchdown passes by Tom Gallagher.

With 13 seconds left before the half, Sparhawk threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to receiver Nick Fallat to draw the Lions within one point of the Terriers.
