Wyoming takes CHL golf title

Wyoming's boys golf team clinched the Cincinnati Hills League championship on Monday after shooting a 155 on the back nine at Wyoming Country Club, 62 strokes better than Deer Park.

The Cowboys broke Indian Hill's near stranglehold on the title — it had won every the CHL title in the sport every year but 1996.

GIRLS SOCCER: Although Goshen won't win the Fort Ancient Valley Conference title, the Warriors still have something to celebrate this season.

A 1-0 victory over Blanchester on Monday gave coach Nick Cherney's team its school-record sixth victory of the season with four games remaining.

“We have eight freshmen on the team,” Cherney said “We have a new attitude and a better work ethic than in past years.”

Seton, No.1 in The Enquirer's Division I poll, moved a step closer to clinching the Girls Greater Cincinnati League Scarlet Division title, battling to a scoreless tie with Ursuline.

The Saints haven't won the GGCL championship since 1986 and need only one victory or two ties in their final three games to wrap it up.

“Both defenses played well,” Seton coach Dan Donovan said. “It was a tough, physical game and there was a lot of pressure all over the field.”
