FAIRFIELD The suspect in last week's fatal shooting at a Fairfield business appeared in court today, and a funeral was held for the victim.
A judge in Fairfield Municipal Court ordered that Sophal Prom, 34, continue to be held in the Butler County Jail without bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday.

Ms. Prom, who had a history of depression, is accused of murder in Thursday's shooting death of Darlene Adams, 34, of Newport, who died after being shot more than 10 times.
Both women were working at Prestige Display & Packaging Inc. at the time of the shooting.
Ms. Adams was working at the company as an employee of a temporary employment agency, said David Pandilidis, director of human resources at Prestige.
There was no supervisory relationship. They were co-workers, he said, adding that both women did packaging work.
He didn't know how long Ms. Adams had been assigned to work at Prestige. Ms. Prom had been a permanent employee of Prestige for only five weeks, following a period of temporary employment, Mr. Pandilidis said Tuesday.
The tragedy continues to affect employees, he said, but he wasn't sure how many employees had taken advantage of counseling services made available to them.
We're shocked and saddened, he said. It's an emotional situation.
Funeral services for Ms. Adams were held at the Jones and Simpson Funeral Home in Covington, followed by burial in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Meanwhile, Prestige has established a fund to assist Ms. Adams' two daughters, Mr. Pandilidis said. Contributions may be made at branches of Provident Bank to Account No. 0193053.
