Doll with Cincinnati connection introduced
More than 2,400 children and parents took time over the weekend to celebrate the newest American Girl historical doll a Cincinnatian at Cincinnati Museum Center.
A three-day event called Kit's Care and Share party was sponsored by Time Warner Cable.
The newest fictional heroine to join the American Girls Collection is Kit Kittredge. The doll was inspired by the fictional stories of a Cincinnati girl living through the Great Depression.
Valerie Tripp, author of Kit's stories, talked to many of the girls at the weekend event at Museum Center.
Candidate hears
seniors' concerns
MASON A congressional candidate is holding a forum today for senior citizens in Warren County.
Mike Azinger, the Republican challenger to 6th District U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland, will take questions and comments. Topics will include home health care, prescription drugs and Social Security.
The forum will be 11 a.m. today at The Houston restaurant, 4026 U.S. 42, Mason.
Woman arrested
in knife attack
A College Hill woman was charged with felonious assault Sunday in connection with a stabbing in Evanston that police say was domestic-related.
Sharvon Green, 32, of the 6200 block of Savannah Avenue, was arrested at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday in an apartment on Woodburn Avenue, where the stabbing occurred 10 minutes earlier, police said.
A man was stabbed and slashed with a small folding knife in the chest and face, requiring treatment at University Hospital. His identity and condition were unavailable.

Lower Price Hill home
Two man were charged in connection with the firing of a gun Sunday morning into a home in Lower Price Hill, Cincinnati District 3 police said.
Eldon Bakken, 21, of the 6900 block of River Road in Sayler Park was charged with improperly discharging a firearm at a house and criminal damaging. Sidney Robbins, 21, of the 2800 block of River Road in Sedamsville was charged with complicity to each of the charges.
Police say Mr. Bakken fired a gun into an apartment in the 2100 block of Hatmaker Street in Lower Price Hill after a man opened the door. One of the bullets lodged in the wall. No one was injured.
Mr. Robbins is accused of driving the getaway car. They were arrested 45 minutes later.

Westwood holdup
Cincinnati police charged two people Sunday in connection with the robbery of the Firstar Bank in Westwood.
Kendall Self, 31 of 3344 Werk Road in Westwood was charged with aggravated robbery and auto theft. Monica Bishop, 40 of 1958 Fairmount Ave. in South Fairmount was charged with complicity to commit aggravated robbery.
Police said Mr. Self went to a teller window and demanded money Saturday morning. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, police said he fled. He ran to the rear parking lot where a car was waiting.

stadium financing
The Woman's Club of Greater Cincinnati and the Woman's Political Caucus will present a forum Oct. 18 called Stadium Financing: Can We Avoid Making the Same Mistake Twice?
The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church social hall. Speakers include Jeff Berding, Bengals director of sales and public affairs; David Krings, Hamilton County administrator; and lawyer Tim Mara, a stadium opponent.
The forum is free and open to the public. Call 751-0100 for information and to make a reservation.
