Promotions & new on the job




        • Pepper Peale has joined Wordsworth Communications as account executive. Ms. Peale has 13 years of experience in event planning, public relations and marketing. She was the director of public relations and marketing at the Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary's Seminary. She serves as lead counsel for Arden Courts of Anderson and Arden Courts of Kenwood, two Alzheimer's assisted living facilities.

        • Shaun K. Stuart has joined Dinsmore & Shohl LLP as corporate attorney in the Cincinnati office.

        • Brian Vass has been named director of marketing at The Sant Corp.

        • Dr. John R. Ganim has joined the family practice of Summit Medical Group's Edgewood office. Dr. Ganim attended the University of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati Medical School. He did his residency at Dayton Community Family Practice Residency Program.

        • Jim Spearman has been named national sales and service manager for the U.S. activities of the Value Machine Business at Cincinnati Machine.

        • Ralph Miller has joined CRI, a mental health agency, as chief administrative officer. He has 15 years of operations experience. He was with Total Safety Inc., an environmental company.

        • Jeff Schlosser, a lawyer with Frost & Jacobs LLP, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Tri-County Economic Development Corp.

        • Sarah Strouse has joined Libby Perszyk Kathman as quality assurance coordinator, Jeff Work as production director and Shaman D'Souza as account coordinator.

        • Christopher Binkert has joined Schaeffer's Investment Research Inc. as vice president of marketing.

        • Lucy R. Hein has been appointed marketing counselor at Judson Village Retirement Community. Mrs. Hein will be responsible for marketing, public relations and admissions. Before joining Judson Village, she had worked in health care, education, child care and senior services.

        • Donna J. Percy has been named administrative director of Sterling Research Group Ltd., a clinical research facility in Mount Auburn and Springdale. Ms. Percy, co-founder of Sterling Research, will be responsible for business development and operations management.

        • Brian Pace has joined Triad Mortgage in the mortgage origination division, as commercial loan officer.

        • Robert Hodgkins has been named senior manager in the health care regulatory group at the Cincinnati office of the accounting and consulting firm Pricewater- house- Coopers. Mr. Hodgkins has been with the firm since 1997 and has more than 10 years of accounting experience. He will be responsible for client service management and directing his service team.

        • Joe Wolfe has been named director of Ernst & Young. Mr. Wolfe is an executive in Ernst & Young's sales organization covering companies in the retail, manufacturing and consumer products industries within Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

        • Sharon Richardson has been named customer service manager at BWF America Inc., Florence, Julia Willmoth becomes purchasing agent, and Ron Hatton is now inside sales/technical writer.

        • Ken Fulmer has joined Huff Realty as sales associate in the Turfway office.

        • The following have joined CDS Associates Inc. — Engineers, Architects, Planners, Surveyors in the general engineering group: Michael W. Rucker, engineer in the water and sewer section; Afzal Qayoumi, senior technician in the highway planning section; and David A. Hulsmeyer, designer in the surveying section.

        • Denise Iker has joined Triplefin Inc., a direct-marketing operations company, as account manager in the client services department. Ms. Iker will act as liaison between the client and Triplefin's management staff. She is also responsible for growing and expanding business within the client base. She was program manager at Frequency Marketing.

        • Kathy Selker has joined Northlich as senior vice president and chief financial officer, Michael Gilligan as vice president of human resources and Carla Barbre as a recruiter.

        • Joe Miller has been appointed director of brokerage services at NAI Eagle, the brokerage services and commercial property management division of Eagle Realty Group. Mr. Miller will oversee the management of the growing brokerage services operation. A member of Eagle Realty Group since 1995, he previously was senior real estate manager in the corporate real estate services department.

        • Betsy Bates has been named vice president/sales manager of Sibcy Cline Realtors, Har rison office.

        • Brian J. Prince has joined Neyer Properties Inc. as project manager.

        • Laird Shadle has joined Bridge Integrated Communications, a full-service advertising agency, as production manager, and Mike Fening as senior copywriter.

        • George F. Gordon has joined Target Solutions as vice president. Mr. Gordon will be responsible for corporate training and development and career management, including outplacement. He has 20 years of experience as a human-resources professional and executive career development coach. He has also worked in career services at Xavier University and has held faculty positions at XU and the University of Cincinnati. He continues to teach as an adjunct professor at Xavier.

        • Kent Friel has been appointed senior vice president, client services at Lee Hecht Harrison, Cincinnati office, and Jennifer Schaefer has been appointed general manager.

        • The following have been appointed officers to the board of trustees for The Center for Chemical Addictions Treatment: Tom Klinedinst III, USI Midwest Insurance, president; Chris Ramos, PNC Bank, vice president; Don Mellott Jr., Mellott & Mellott, treasurer; and R.         • Michelle Taylor has been named account manager at Empower MediaMarketing (EM2).

        • Krista Hamilton has joined Dia InnerActives, a PC-based technology training company, as a copywriter.
       

Awards & honors

               • Kendra Schroer, chapter president of the Miami Valley Society of Hazardous Materials Managers, has received the Champions of Excellence Award from the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers.

        • KZF Design, a Cincinnati architectural firm, jointly with THP Limited, has received a Merit Award from AIA Ohio, a society of the American Institute of Architects, for their newly completed building of the Eden Avenue garage addition and pedestrian bridge at the University of Cincinnati.

        • Southbank, the partnership between Bellevue, Covington and Newport, has won the Enterprise Cities Award from the Kentucky League of Cities. The award is given to cities that demonstrate entrepreneurial and innovative approaches to governing.

               • D. Lee Handley has opened a new security consulting company named Safe Harbor Security Consulting Services, located at 11427 Reed Hartman Highway, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
