A guide to help make your day

Going out

Theatre IV: The acclaimed children's group whacks off a horseman's head and gallops full tilt into The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, 1:30 p.m. today in the very haunted Taft Museum (the ever so dead Annie Sinton Taft roams the second floor), 316 Pike St., downtown. Free with museum admission ($2-$4). 241-0343.

Wrestling: They sweat, grunt, stomp on each other's heads and throw Halloween parties. It's Heartland Wrestling Association hosting former WWF Tag Team Champion Tony Atlas and a few other grapple-monsters. 7:30 p.m. today National Guard Armory, 3000 Symmes Road, Hamilton. $10-$12, $5 children under 12. 771-1650.

Symphony: May Festival director James Conlon makes his conducting debut with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, dipping his toe into a fifth of Beethoven and a dash of Zemlinsky with soprano Christine Brewer and baritone Hakan Hagegard, 8 p.m. today Music Hall. $12-$49. 381-3300.

Dog book: Dan Dye and Mark Beckloff discuss and sign Amazing Gracie, all about the strong-willed dog that inspired a national pet-bakery chain. Noon today, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Rookwood Pavilion, Norwood. 396-8960.

Staying In

TV picks: Talk about a scary show for Halloween weekend: Time Machine devotes two hours to the 1929 stock market crash which launched the Great Depression (9 p.m., History Channel).

        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter says Lydia (Heather Paige Kent) blows off her best friend (Debi Mazar) to attend an author lecture on That's Life (8 p.m., Channels 12, 7).

The Goods (What's in stores today)

Time warp: As you know, time waits for no one. Especially this weekend, when the clocks fall back an hour. Celebrate that extra hour of sleep by buying yourself a new clock. Maybe one that looks like the Eiffel Tower, says manufacturer Seth Thomas. It sells for about $40 at stores all over the place. Check them out (and order if you wanna) at www.seththomas.com.

Planning Ahead

24 hours out: More than 150 dealers — antiques, collectibles, vintage everything — set up shop at Butler County Fairgrounds for the Hamilton Antiques Fair, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Ohio 4 and Fair Avenue, Hamilton. $3, children free. 738-7256.

48 hours out: BB Riverboats Haunts the Ohio River with a Halloween teen cruise. Costume contest, tour of the spook-infested USS Nightmare plus music and games from KISS 107. 6:30-9 p.m. Monday. Loads at Covington Landing. $15. (859) 261-8500.

Next weekend: Children's Theatre takes a hike down the yellow brick road in search of The Wizard of Oz next weekend (Nov. 3-5). Taft Theatre, Fifth and Sycamore Sts. downtown. $5-$14. 562-4949.

Get To It appears daily. Send items to Get To It, Tempo, Cincinnati Enquirer, 312 Elm St., Cincinnati 45202; fax: 768-8330.
