Next weekend rich in folk art, crafts

Folk art and crafts will be being featured on both sides of the river next weekend. The sixth annual Greater Cincinnati Folk Art and Craft Show will be in Sharonville and the Country Peddler Show will be in Covington.
The Greater Cincinnati Folk Art and Craft Show has been chosen as one of the top 200 shows of its kind in the country by the readers of Sunshine Artist Magazine. The show will feature 110 artisans specializing in unique crafts, such as wheat weaving and egg batiking; folk art such as wheeled art; decorative accents and handcrafted furniture, as well as special craft demonstrations using time-honored techniques.

Also on display will be a festive and unusual Americana Traditional Christmas tree. This tree will be auctioned in the Kindervelt's Kinderklaus Markt live auction to benefit Children's Hospital Medical Center.
The third annual Original Country Peddler Show will display and sell one-of-a-kind decorator gifts and collectibles. The show will be presented in decorated room-like settings showcasing hand-crafted items such as teddy bears, baskets, wooden items, furniture, pottery, flags, birdhouses, dolls, porcelain items and herbal items. More than 30 vendors will participate.
Visitors who attend the show for two days will get $2 off admission by making a food or cash donation to the Humane Society of Kentucky and by showing their hand stamp from the previous day.
