Mighty Ducks 2, Rochester 1
Petr Tenkrat's fifth goal of the season broke a third-period tie as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks defeated the Rochester Americans 2-1 Saturday night in the AHL at the Gardens.
Tenkrat, who is playing in North America for the first time after competing in Finland last season, scored on a power play 4:40 into the final period. Tenkrat fired a slap shot from the top of the left circle past Rochester goalie and former Duck and Ohio State Buckeye Tom Askey.
B.J. Young scored the first goal with a power play tally at 16:01 of the first period, marking the eighth straight game the Ducks have scored first. Dane Jackson tied it with a power play goal 2:28.
Rookie Jason Williams had two assists for Cincinnati, which improved its league-best record to 7-1-0-0.
