COVINGTON — A group of Kenton County politicians will, at least for one evening, put partisanship aside Thursday as they campaign together at the region's first-ever Candidates Fair.

        The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Devou Park Memorial Building in Covington.

        It is sponsored by the Kenton County Democratic Club and organized by Kenton County Magis trate Steve Hoffman, a club member.

        “I'm really happy with the way people have responded to this and want to come together to meet with the voters,” Mr. Hoffman said. “Only a few people have told us they definitely did not want to attend because we invited people from both parties.”

        Candidates will be allowed to meet with voters and pass out campaign material, but Mr. Hoffman said there will be no speeches, debates or presenta tions allowed.

        “We just want people to be able to come in, walk around and talk to the candidates they want to meet and learn more about,” Mr. Hoffman said.

        Candidates from these Kenton County races have made reservations: Covington, Independence, Fort Mitchell, Crestview Hills, Edgewood, Lakeside Park, Taylor Mill and Villa Hills.

        Also, candidates for county-wide races are scheduled to attend.

        There is no charge, and refreshments and snacks will be provided.

        Candidates can also attend free, but they will be asked to donate $10 toward expenses or a door prize.

        “If a candidate can't call or decides at the last minute to attend, come on up to Devou Park,” he said. “We'll make room for you.”
