Missing girl found on bus

By Walt Schaefer
The Cincinnati Enquirer

FOREST PARK — A 7-year-old girl, reported missing after not boarding her school bus here Friday morning, was found safe aboard a Metro bus in Avondale by Cincinnati Police at about 3 p.m.

Brittany Davis, daughter of Nina Cook and Robert Davis, was reported missing after she did not report to Waycross Elementary School.

She failed to get on the school bus about 7 a.m. at her stop along Hollingsworth Drive. Ms. Cook was out of town and Brittany was in the care of a baby sitter Friday morning.

Early Friday afternoon, a countywide alert was issued for the girl, who has a pink cast on her arm.

Forest Park Police Lt. Gary Terrell said a Metro driver saw Brittany on his bus with a 17-year-old girl thought to be a cousin or acquaintance.

Lt. Terrell said police were still investigating how Brittany and the 17-year-old got on the Metro bus and why.

Brittany's baby sitter, Sylvia Price, said Brittany's sister, Jessica, 16, walked her to the bus stop Friday morning.

Jessica said she watched Brittany go into a friend's house to await the bus, then went on to catch her bus.
