Mighty Ducks 3, Syracuse 0
SYRACUSE, N.Y. A Cincinnati Mighty Ducks goalie was dominant, and this time it wasn't Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
Gregg Naumenko turned away 23 shots en route to his third career shutout as the Mighty Ducks skated past the Syracuse Crunch 3-0 Saturday night in the American Hockey League.
Naumenko had 19 saves over the final two periods while improving to 3-1-0. It was the Mighty Ducks' first shutout of the season.
Marc Rodgers, Torrey DiRoberto and Yuri Butsayev scored for Cincinnati, which extended its unbeaten streak against Syracuse to 12 games (10-0-2-0) dating to April 10, 1998.
The AHL suspended Ducks center Sean Avery for a minimum of two games for leaving the penalty box to join an altercation in Friday's game at Rochester. His suspension could be six games pending review of the tape by league officials.
