By
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Turnout was heavy in the Tristate Tuesday, with long waits to vote in Kentucky.
Turnout in Boone County was 68 percent, Campbell County 61 percent and Kenton County 64 percent.
In Villa Hills, heavy turnout produced a problem: Balloting was so heavy the polls stayed open until 8:30 p.m.
In Ohio, Hamilton County had 63 percent turnout. Butler County turnout was 62 percent. Warren County, 71 percent.
Tim Burke, chairman of the Hamilton County Board of Elections, said dozens of precincts in Hamilton County had to be relocated after precinct lines were redrawn to conform with U.S. Census boundaries.
