HAMILTON Republican incumbent Harold Don Gabbard ed to victory Tuesday over Alan Todd Laney to win a third term as Butler County sheriff.
Mr. Gabbard, 68, defeated his Democratic challenger, according to unofficial results. The tally: 88,141 votes to 36,741, with all 280 precincts reporting.
In other contested Butler County races, unofficial results show:
Republican Cindy Carpenter, 41, of Fairfield, the incumbent, beat Democrat Brian K. Harrison, 31, of Middletown in the race for clerk of courts. The breakdown: 78,996 votes to 41,979.
In the race for treasurer, Butler County assistant treasurer Carole Mosketti, a Republican, defeated Democrat Gail Livelsburger 71,475 votes to 46,086. Ms. Mosketti has been assistant county treasurer for 18 years.
Incumbent GOP Recorder Danny Crank kept his position in a race against Darrell H. Collins, the Democratic challenger. The breakdown: 75,959 votes to 42,730.
