By Patrick Crowley
The Cincinnati Enquirer
COVINGTON Running on a platform of her experience in office, Fort Wright Democrat Mary Ann Woltenberg was re-elected Tuesday as Kenton County Circuit Court clerk.
Mrs. Woltenberg collected 54.41 percent, or 28,321 votes, while Republican Steve Kramer of Villa Hills ended the night with 45.58 percent, or 23,728 votes.
I think it was experience in office and all my family, friends and supporters who worked hard for me is what made the difference, Mrs. Woltenberg said at her victory party at the Bowlounge in Latonia.
I just want to thank the voters of Kenton County for standing by me, she said. I'm just ecstatic.
Mr. Kramer gave up a seat on Villa Hills City Council to run for circuit clerk.
He could not be reached to comment.
The circuit clerk's office handles the basic administration of the county district, juvenile and circuit courts, including payment of fines and filing of lawsuits and court documents.
