Bainum, Wynn first-team All Ohio

Two of Greater Cincinnati's best junior running backs, Reading's DeShawn Wynn and Williamsburg's Jason Bainum, were named first-team All-State by the Associated Press.
Bainum, who rushed for 3,043 yards on 355 carries, was named Division VI Offensive Player of the Year.
Bainum broke Ohio's single-season rushing mark. His record lasted three weeks before two other backs surpassed it during the playoffs, including Upper Arlington's Jeff Backes, who was named Mr.Football on Wednesday.
Backes, whose Golden Bears defeated Colerain in the Division I state semifinals, has gained 3,170 yards this season heading into this weekend's finals vs. Solon.
In Division V, Wynn, a transfer from Lockland, rushed for 2,140 yards and scored 25 TDs to lead Read ing to the state semifinals.
Also in Division V, Reading linebacker/fullback Joe Tucker and Middletown Madison junior defensive lineman Marc Isaac were named to the first team.
Matt Cohen, Cincinnati Country Day's 6-2, 205-pound linebacker, was named to the Division VI first team on defense.
Second-team Division V honors went to Rob Evick, Middletown Madison's punter.
Division VI second-team honors went to Jeff Thompson (Summit CD), Andrew Wills (CCD), Alex Vollmer (CCD), Jason Riedle (Williamsburg) and Casey McConnell (Summit CD).
