Volunteers sought for diet plan
By The Cincinnati Enquirer
Tired of seeing Cincinnati on those 10 Fattest Cities lists?
Well, here's your chance to pitch in and help Porkopolis slim down.
The Enquirer is recruiting volunteers to participate in The Cincinnati Diet, a new weight-loss plan developed in cooperation with the Jewish Hospital Weight Management Center. The diet is not the center's fasting plan.
Three volunteers will be chosen to participate in the food-based plan. The Cincinnati Diet will be a four-week package that includes consultations with a nutritionist, behavioral counselor and fitness trainer.
Here's the catch: Participants have to agree to let the Enquirer follow their progress - pound-for-pound and inch-for-inch in continuing coverage to benefit readers who may try the diet on their own.
To be eligible, applicants mend a letter with your name, address, phone number, age, height and weight, along with any information on previous adventures in weight loss, to the Cincinnati Diet, c/o Weight Management Center, 10475 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241. Deadline is Dec. 15.
Readers who want to share their weight-loss success stories are also invited to call personal health reporter Peggy O'Farrell at 768-8510 or pofarrell@enquirer.com, with questions.
