Two NKU players named soccer All-Americans
Northern Kentucky University juniors Tricia Ruark (Seton) and Betsy Moore (McAuley) have been named first-team Division II All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Ruark, a midfielder, led NKU in points with 42 and was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the year. Moore, a forward, led the Norse with 15 goals and earned her second straight first-team All-American honor.
NKU junior goalie Lauren Piening earned thrid-team All-America honors. Piening posted an 0.61 goals-against average and had seven shutouts.
NKU was 21-2-2 and advanced to the Division II national championship match, losing 2-1 to UC San Diego.
