10 rules for better schools issued

COLUMBUS The State Board of Education voted Tuesday to approve a list of 10 new rules aimed at improving Ohio schools.
The new standards set curriculum guidelines and high school graduation requirements.
The curriculum must include subjects such as language arts, geography, health, fine arts, U.S. and Ohio history, and mathematics.
High school graduation re quirements include four units of English, three units of mathematics and social studies, and two units of science.
Teachers will have to be trained in the subjects they teach and will be subject to new performance evaluations under the new rules.
