Miami will have hands full at George Mason
By John Fay
The Cincinnati Enquirer
The Miami RedHawks are coming off a game in which an athletic, 6-foot-7 player ate them up. The bad news for the RedHawks is they face a similar player tonight when they play George Mason in Fairfax, Va.

GMU's George Evans might be even better than Wright State's Kevin Melson, whose 19 second-half points doomed Miami in a 56-47 loss Tuesday.
Evans certainly is more experienced. He is 29 years old.
This is NBA week for us, Miami coach Charlie Coles said. We're going against some experienced players.
Evans, a 225-pound senior, spent eight years in the Army before enrolling at George Mason. He is a two-time Colonial Athletic Association player of the year, and he's playing even better this year. George has gotten bigger, stronger and faster in each of his first three years, GMU coach Jim Larranaga said.
Evans is averaging 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds and is shooting 56.9 percent from the field.
One reason Melson went off in the second half Tuesday was Miami's foul trouble. Alex Shorts fouled out, and the two players who guarded Melson Julius Johnson and Mike Ensminger were limited by four fouls each.
Miami must avoid foul trouble tonight to have a chance.
George Mason is 6-2, with losses to New Mexico and Toledo. Larranaga is a former Bowling Green coach, so he is familiar with Miami.
The Patriots are coming off a 19-11 season. They enter tonight 51st in the RPI ratings.
Miami point guard Doug Davis, who missed the last two games with a sprained foot, is expected to return tonight's game, the first of two straight for Miami against CAA foes. Miami plays North Carolina-Wilmington, the defending CAA champion, Dec.30 in Oxford.
