Our Fearless Predictions for N.Ky. games
By Ray Schaefer

Boyd County at Dixie Heights
WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. today, Dixie Heights HS, 3010 Dixie Highway, Edgewood.
WHAT TO KNOW: Dixie has struggled lately. The Colonels have lost their past two games.
The Boyd County Lions are three-time defending 16th Region winners. This season is turning out different. Ashland Paul Blazer and Russell are the top two contenders, and Boyd County has lost three of its last four by an average of 15.3 points per defeat.
Tonight's questions: can the Colonels rebound from Tuesday's 67-42 loss to Newport Central Catholic? Can junior center Joe Bramlage (16.5 points per game) and his brother, sophomore guard Russ Bramlage (12.3), score more than the seven and 10 points against NewCath? If you go by the numbers, the answer is - probably.
PICK: Dixie Heights.
Ludlow at Dayton
WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. today, Dayton HS, 200 Clay Street, Dayton
WHAT TO KNOW: Ludlow is starting to rebound from a shaky start. The Panthers have won two straight after a 1-4 start.
The Dayton Greendevils have won two of their last three, but that was after an 0-5 start.
Ludlow and Dayton have both struggled on offense. Ludlow is averaging 49 points per game, while Dayton isn't much better at 55.8. On defense, Ludlow's defense allows 53.8 points per game to Dayton's 63.9.
PICK: Ludlow.
Villa Madonna at Calvary Christian
WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. today, Calvary Christian School, 5955 Taylor Mill Rd., Covington
WHAT TO KNOW: Calvary Christian's inaugural season as a full Kentucky High School Athletic Association member has been a battle to say the least. The Cougars are 2-6, including four losses in the past five games.
Villa Madonna has been just as bad. The Blue Lightning are off to an 0-5 start. Their task tonight is to deal with Calvary senior forward Brandon Lanham, who averages 10 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game.
PICK: Calvary Christian.
Silver Grove at Heritage Academy
WHEN/WHERE: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Heritage Academy, 7216 U.S. 42, Florence
WHAT TO KNOW: Silver Grove has no player taller than six foot, but it hasn't mattered. The Big Trains are 6-0 and averaging 79 points a game.
Heritage wishes it could say the same. The Eagles are 1-4 and scoring 50.4 per game.
PICK: Silver Grove.
