Boone County rolls with big 3rd quarter

The Boone County boys beat Tates Creek 75-63 for third place in the Grant County Eagle Classic Saturday.
Rob Kellerman scored 11 of his 24 points during a 30-point third quarter which gave the Rebels a 56-47 lead after being tied 26-26 at the half. Ben Brown added 19 points for Boone County.

Grant County 83, Shelby County 68 Tyler Jones scored a career-high 38 points, and was 18-of-19 from the free-throw line to lead the Eagles to their second straight Grant County Eagle Classic title.
Jones made 11 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Allen Shafer added 14 points for Grant County.
Robert Daniels led previously undefeated Shelby County with 25 points.

Conner 70, Tennessee Northeast 59 Senior forward Jeremy Stephenson scored a season-high 25 to give the Cougars, ranked No.5 team in the Enquirer's Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, the Big South Fork Classic title.
Senior center Terry Johnson had 20 points and 20 rebounds for Conner. Johnson had double-doubles in each of Conner's three games in the tournament to earn the most valuable player award.
Conner's extended its best start in school history to 8-0.

Senior guard Jimmy Horstman scored a game-high 31 points, including three 3-pointers. Senior center Keith Baumann and senior guard Jamie Richmond each made three 3-pointers for Silver Grove.
Junior Travis Highfield led Heritage Academy with 21 points, and senior David O'Toole added 19.
