        Rockettes: The 22 high-kicking dancers — the Olympics of precision strut — cut back to one show of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular because, well, it's Christmas Eve.         Museum Center: You want options this frosty morning? You got it: The Children's Museum; Holiday Junction with a zillion miles of model trains; the Omnimax film Titanica tied in to an exhibit full of artifacts pulled from the murky wreckage.         At Rosie's: The eclectic tavern tucked on a back street in Covington's MainStrasse Village rocks the block when it hosts the popular Annette Shepherd Band pounding out a diverse songlist full of everything from Cole Porter to the Indigo Girls.         TV picks: (Radio, too) Sonic Seasonings: WXVU-FM (91.7) is all over the board today with the most diverse program you're likely to hear this year: Celtic seasonal favorites by Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning, environmental soundscapes for flute and zither by Dean and Duley Evenson; Russian folk songs and Hanukkah hymns by pianist Ira Stein and vocalist Irina Mikhailova; synthesized space music by the highly regarded composer John Serrie. The holiday sweet treat runs 10 p.m.-midnight.

        Holiday magic: The department store Santa who may or may not be real works his magic in this 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street with Richard Attenborough and Elizabeth Perkins; 8 p.m., Channel 19.

        You're a mean one: Everyone's favorite grump, the Grinch himself, makes his annual visit in How the Grinch Stole Christmas; 8 p.m, Cartoon Network

        Christmas services: Channel 5 has Mass from the Vatican (11:30 p.m.); Channel 12 has an ecumenical service by pastors from Catholic, Protestant and Greek Orthodox churches, 11:35 p.m.; and Channel 9 devotes the evening to Peace on Earth, 11:35 p.m.

Planning Ahead

        24 hours out: It's a day full of Hanukkah songs and games for families looking for something to do Christmas Day.         48 hours out: The Cincinnati Dulcimer Society strings together a homespun mix of holiday sounds there among the gazillion poinsettias spicing up Krohn Conservatory. 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Eden Park. Free. 421-4086.

        72 hours 'til Wednesday: It's an evening of dribbling behind the back punctuated by trick shots that look impossible but apparently aren't when the Harlem Globetrotters bring a batch of theatrics to Firstar Center, 7 p.m. $13-$76. 562-4949.
