Girl killed after video game knocked over
The Associated Press
HENDERSON, Ky. An Illinois man is accused of killing a Henderson teen after she knocked over his video game console, police said.
Patricia Gordon, 13, died Tuesday night from blunt force trauma to the head. She had been thrown on the floor, police said.
Michael Dewayne Anderson Jr., 19, of Murphysboro, Ill., told police he was angry with Patricia on Sunday because she knocked over a Sony Playstation video game console in a Henderson motel room.
Mr. Anderson said he picked her up and threw her down twice before he realized he had injured her seriously, the complaint said.
Patricia, who would have celebrated her 14th birthday Thursday, died Tuesday evening at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.
She, her mother, a 16-year-old sister, two brothers, an infant sibling and Mr. Anderson were living together in a room at the Holiday Motel when the incident occurred on Sunday, police said.
Mr. Anderson was dating the victim's 16-year-old sister.
Patricia's mother and other siblings were in the room during the alleged crime, police said.
Mr. Anderson pleaded not guilty Wednesday to the murder charge.
