By Allen Howard
The Cincinnati Enquirer
MADEIRA Rob Steier, 45, a member of the Madeira Planning Commission, was appointed Monday night to fill the unexpired term of Councilwoman Michelle G. Schneider, who was elected to the Ohio House 36th District.
The Madeira City Council accepted Ms. Schneider's resignation Monday night and swore in Mr. Steier.
Mr. Steier, an engineer, is general manager of commercial construction for the John R. Jurgensen and Cos. in Sharonville, which specialize in highway construction and asphalt paving.
Mr. Steier said he plans to run for election in November. He said a main issue is land development.
We have to watch and protect the vacant land we have, Mr. Steier said.
He is married to Carol Steier, a dietitian. They are the parents of three children.
