St. Xavier ranked No. 1 in Ohio poll
St. Xavier is the No.1 team in Division I in the first weekly Associated Press Ohio boys poll of the 2000-2001 season.
In the rankings released Monday, St. Xavier picked up where it left off last March. St. Xavier won the Division I state crown with a 63-54 victory over Bedford in the finals at Value City Arena.
The Bombers received nine of 30 first-place votes and 225 points with Cleveland St. Ignatius voted No.2. Undefeated Winton Woods holds down the No.8 spot.
Two Cincinnati teams made the top five in Division IV. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is second behind Lancaster Fisher Catholic, even though CHCA received more first-place votes. Cincinnati Country Day is fifth.
