Scott knocks off N.Ky. No. 1 NewCath

Ben Lye had game highs of 21 points and 12 rebounds as Scott surprised Newport Central Catholic, the No.1 team in the Enquirer's Northern Kentucky boys basketball poll, 69-56 Tuesday night at Scott.
Lye keyed a 21-7 run by scoring 12 points in the second period to give the Eagles a 37-26 halftime lead.
Bryan Stevenson (16), Justin Morris (15), and Chris Thompson (10) all scored in double figures for Scott, which held a 20-9 advantage from the free throw line.
Ronny Dawn led NewCath with 15 points.
