Newport edges Villa Madonna in 'A' Classic

        Newport defeated Villa Madonna 57-49 in a second-round Ninth Region game at the All “A” Classic at Newport on Thursday.

        Christina Jones and Ashley Mills each scored 14 points for the Wildcats. Mills also had 11 rebounds.

        Jill Sullender came off the bench to score a team-high 11 points for the Blue Lightning.
