Kids pick college for proud day
By Jennifer Mrozowski
The Cincinnati Enquirer
MORROW Little Miami High School seniors got their way: Their graduation will be held at Wilmington College this spring.
High School Principal Robert Bixler left the decision to the senior class after plans were floated to move the ceremony to the new high school.
Of the results tallied Thursday, 65 percent of those who voted preferred Wilmington instead of having it in the gymnasium or on the football field.
Senior Nathan McKeehan said he chose Wilmington so he could have an unlimited number of guests. Nathan said he plans to invite about 15 relatives.
A guest limit was the major objection.
Graduation has been held at Wilmington for more than 20 years because of the lack of space elsewhere, but in 1997 administrators promised to return it to the new high school if taxpayers passed a bond issue to build one. They did. But now, the students have spoken.
Graduation will be held at 7 p.m. June 1.
