Second suspect sought in dismemberment
Third believed dead since 1994 slaying

BURLINGTON Authorities hope to arrest at least one more man for the 1994 killing and dismemberment of a woman, but have learned that a third suspect is now dead, police said Friday.
Paul Anthony White, 35, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of Peggy Casey. He is jailed in Boone County on charges of first-degree rape, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 property.

Ms. Casey, 37, was last seen alive April 1, 1994, drinking in a Covington bar before she left with a man. Boone County police Lt. Jack Banks declined to say Friday whether Mr. White was that man.
Lt. Banks would not identify the dead suspect to avoid tipping off the other man being sought, Lt. Banks said.
Police know who and where the remaining suspect is, but he has not been arrested because investigators are still developing evidence, Lt. Banks said.
Boone County authorities learned two months ago from information obtained in a separate case that Ms. Casey was killed in the northern Kentucky county, Lt. Banks said. Parts of her body were dumped in three western Ohio counties as the suspects who had no known connections to Ohio fled north, investigators said.
Cooperation from Ohio authorities and recent information that enabled investigators to identify suspects and murder weapons helped the case come together, Lt. Banks said.
It has been a puzzling case. We were lucky, he said Friday.
In the week after Ms. Casey's disappearance, her head, legs, arms and lower torso were found in Miami, Champaign and Clark counties in western Ohio. Her upper torso never has been found.
