The Cincinnati Enquirer
Those wondering what became of former Gibson Greetings chief Frank O'Connell will be interested to know he has landed: in the professional seat of a motorcycle.
Mr. O'Connell, who left Gibson after it was acquired by American Greetings in March, leads the historic Indian Motorcycles in Gilroy, Calif.
According to Indian's Web site, Mr. O'Connell is the new chief executive so new that his photo isn't on the site yet.
But most things at Indian are new right now the 100-year-old company roared back from the beyond in 1999, after 46 years dormant because of money problems in 1953.
For Mr. O'Connell, it is a professional move as well as a passionate one. A motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys long over-the-road trips with his wife, Barbara, Mr. O'Connell owns several cycles, among them at least one Indian.
Before working at Gibson, Mr. O'Connell worked for sports card maker SkyBox International and Reebok International, where he developed the pump sneaker.
