Greater Miami Conference games


Graves carries Lakota East past Princeton

The Cincinnati Enquirer

        Steve Graves had 24 points, including two crucial free throws late in the fourth quarter, to help give Lakota East a 57-52 victory over Princeton in Greater Miami Conference action at Lakota East.

        Four consecutive field goals by Graves in the third quarter enabled the Thunderhawks to take a 40-37 lead entering the final eight minutes.

        Jonathan Woods added 12 points for East.

        Marc Jones led Princeton with 12 points.

        PRINCETON (52) — Jones 4 2 12, Williams 3 0 6, Barnett 2 1 6, McGrath 4 0 10, Hill 2 1 5, C. Mullin 1 0 2, J. Mullin 2 0 4, Brown 3 0 7. Totals: 21 4 52.

        LAKOTA EAST (57) — Hill 4 0 9, Henderson 1 3 5, Salvati 1 0 2, Day 1 0 2, Graves 7 9 24, Woods 5 2 12, Carroll 0 1 1, Baumgartner 1 0 2. Totals: 20 15 57.

        • Colerain 53, Lakota West 42 — Senior center Doug Monaghan had 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Firebirds.

        Monaghan scored all 12 of Colerain's points in the third quarter.

        • Hamilton 66, Milford 46 — Tyrell Williams came off the bench to score 11 points, and E.J. Underwood also scored 11 for the Big Blue.

        Hamilton made three 3-pointers in the second quarter and hit all six of its 3-point tries while taking a 28-19 halftime lead.

        Hamilton is ranked seventh in the Enquirer's Division I coaches poll.

        Jon Halter scored 10 points to lead Milford.

        Sycamore was led by Nick Baker with 12 points.

        • Oak Hills 74, Mid dletown 59 — Senior forward Tim Oliverio had 25 points and seven rebounds for the Highlanders.

        Senior guard Mike Lee had 20 points and three assists.

        Oak Hills remained one half-game ahead of Hamilton in the GMC at 9-1.
